About Us

Our founder, Dan Krhin, has worked in TRIO, Student Support Services and McNair Scholars programs for over 30 years. He successfully created a unique financial literacy course that focuses specifically on planning and investing for retirement starting at a young age. Dan Krhin has presented to numerous Upward Bound and other college preparation organizations about the value of a college degree and has guided students in their college selection process. Workshops available for high school and college groups through Capstone Consulting.

Dan’s expertise has proudly aided more than 125 students to enter graduate programs at some of the most prestigious institutions in the country, and the majority of these students immediately enter Ph.D. programs.

In all that we do in assisting students, Capstone Consulting blends interesting data, theory and research. We also make sure that our practical presentations have a significant, long-lasting, and powerful impact on the students.

Financial Literacy, Investing and Retirement Planning

For the past four years 2021-2024, 77 students, mostly from lower socio-economic, first generation backgrounds have completed a set of educational and information sessions about financial literacy with a specific focus on investing at an early age in planning for retirement. The unique model that these students completed provided each student with immense knowledge about investing in stock and non-stock vehicles as many of these students come from families that have little to no knowledge about long-term investment planning for retirement. Each student opened retirement account with seed money.

In surveys given to students when they completed the investing sessions, the overwhelming response was that they have now addressed two very common reasons why many people have little to no funds saved for a comfortable retirement.
